# Modular Desk Lamp — Fictional Input Brief> FICTIONAL DEMONSTRATION INPUT. This brief was created to exercise the Skill. It contains no real client, user, company, research, prototype, test, supplier, cost, or launch data.## Requested deliverableCreate a 14-page horizontal industrial design case study for designers evaluating the `industrial-design-portfolio` Skill. The portfolio should work in a browser, at mobile width, and when printed to PDF.## Concept propositionExplore a repairable desk-light platform for compact workspaces. The concept may shift between focused task lighting, ambient lighting, and video-call lighting by reconfiguring its light head, arm, and base. This is a proposition to investigate, not a user need that has been observed or validated.## Intended product language- circular weighted base;- two slim arm segments;- cylindrical joints;- capsule-shaped light head;- deep-blue matte aluminum;- warm-white diffuser;- cobalt replaceable sleeve. These attributes describe visual intent only. They do not prove dimensions, materials, manufacturability, optical performance, stability, thermal performance, repairability, or cost.## Intended story1. State the proposition and its limits.2. Show three synthetic usage scenarios as hypotheses.3. Compare clamp, weighted-base, and rail-mounted concept routes.4. Select the weighted-base route provisionally.5. Define CMF and conceptual product architecture.6. Describe a future validation plan.7. Show an illustrative concept revision.8. End with the unresolved questions.## Evidence available at intake- this fictional brief;- no external sources;- no real project artifacts;- no independently verifiable result.## Evidence explicitly unavailable- interviews, observations, participants, surveys, or market research;- physical prototypes, CAD, drawings, dimensions, bills of materials, or tolerances;- photometric, glare, tipping, joint-force, thermal, durability, or repair tests;- engineering, supplier, manufacturing, cost, patent, safety, or regulatory reviews;- launched-product metrics or user outcomes.## Non-negotiable disclosure rules- Mark every behavioral statement as a hypothesis or synthetic scenario.- Mark every generated product image as AI-assisted concept visualization.- Call the exploded view a conceptual architecture illustration, not an engineering drawing.- Describe validation activities as future plans, never completed tests.- Do not invent people, quotes, measurements, dates, costs, or performance results.- End the case study with unresolved gaps rather than implied readiness.
